Nashville, TN – Fervent Records' newly signed singer-songwriter Chris August is gearing up for the release of his debut album No Far Away on August 24. While this Dallas, Texas native may be considered a "new" artist; Chris is anything but a rookie in the music industry. The self-taught pianist, guitarist and producer has previously worked with Brian McKnight, Jessica and Ashlee Simpson, Ryan Cabrera, among many others, and is now focused on his solo career full time.
“Growing up my life was all about basketball and music ... After my NBA dreams quickly fell by the wayside, my journey in music began,” laughs Chris August. “This album shares bits and pieces of who I am and my life story. I’m incredibly excited to share it with the world and hope it resonates with listeners.”
Recorded in Nashville, Chris co-produced the album with acclaimed producer Ed Cash, who is known for his work with Amy Grant, Chris Tomlin, Steven Curtis Chapman, Dolly Parton, Bethany Dillon and mainstream artists Matt Wertz and Dave Barnes, to name a few. With his polished pop/rock sound, the album captures Chris’ deft ability to embrace relationships and heartache in his songwriting. The album features his debut hit single “Starry Night,” which landed inside the Top 20 on Billboard’s Christian AC Indicator chart this week.
